A Few of Our Favorite Garlic Things

We’re enthusiastic garlic fans, and grow a few different varieties on the farm. We love it as much for its flavor as its health benefits. Garlic is rich in vitamin C, B vitamins (B6, B1, B5, B2, B3), manganese, potassium, calcium, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc.* It’s also an immune boosting pre-biotic that’s great for heart health and lowering cholesterol.*

In PA, hardneck Garlic is planted in the fall and harvested the following July. It’s incredibly easy to store and can be kept in a basket, out of direct light, well into winter or even early spring. If you’d like to be able to eat fresh local garlic throughout the winter, you can grow your own or stock up at your local farmers market when its in season (no kitchen gadgets or processing equipment required).

We add a little bit of garlic to just about everything- from omelettes to chili, salads, sauces and dressings, pasta dishes, and marinades. But we also love recipes that make garlic the star of the show. Here are a few of our go-to garlic-forward recipes….
